INFORMATION REVOLUTION
One of the most remarkable revolutions that changed the way
humans live is the information revolution. Information revolutions have opened
the new horizons and test the limit and habits of political leaders.
How have humans been living before information revolution?
Imagine sending a friend of family member of compiling data
for business or government institutions, imaging the amount of paper to be
carried, the amount of ink to be wasted, the time to spend in writing of
drafting those proposals, the time it will take to deliver these messages or
letters or just to announce some meeting date, the resource, physical manpower
and all others involved cannot be imagined.
Information revolution has come to time with dramatic
revolutions have taken place in the cost of obtaining, processing, storing and transmitting
in all forms (text, graphics, audio and video).
As humanity progresses from agricultural to industrial
revolution two centuries ago, the need for information revolution had to come
into play as a prime factor for governments and companies.
Technological innovations has begun way back in centuries
ago which had great impact in setting the pace for new innovations like the
innovation of the printing press by a German name Johann Gutenberg in the late
1430s.
However, there are some innovations that totally changed the
way humans live which include but not limited to the WWW (World Wide Web). The
Word Wide Web is one of the most important technological innovations which was
invented by Sir Tim Bernes –Lee in 1989 in trying to find a new way for
scientist to easily share their data from experiments, and now the WWW opened
up the internet we know today for everyone.
The likes of the PC (Personal Computers) have been around
since ‘70s, but computers as we know today didn’t come into the world until mid
‘80s. It was apple and IBM that brought affordable and easy to use machines to
the masses.
Another one to really appreciate is the smartphone, as
communication has really been a success for war to relationships and its one of
the innovative technologies that even the inventor hadn’t dreamt that the cell phone
would have this much impact in this shortest time in the lives of the people.
And we have the Web Mail (Web Base Email), the Satellite
Radio, the Flash Memory, Satellite TV, the Optical Mouse, Hybrid Cars, The GPS,
Social Networking, Digital Music; LED Headlights so on and so on.
Technology
has changed our lives drastically and has allowed people to complete more tasks
in less time and with less energy, it has opened doors for all walks of life.
In many ways, technology simplifies life rise of a leisure class with a more informed society which allows us to make quicker responses to events and trends posted to social media, Sets the stage for more complex learning tasks, Increases multi-tasking (although this may not be simplifying), Global networking and also creates denser social circles as well as cheap prices

ever coin has two sides, so the information can also be abused and some of the
major task that technology has brought is congestion in some areas, Techniques, New forms of danger
existing as a consequence of new forms of technology, such as the first
generation of nuclear reactors, New forms of entertainment, such as video games
and internet access could have possible social effects on areas such as academic
performance, Increases probability of diseases and disorders, such as obesity, Social
separation of singular human interaction. Technology can also mislead
people and can cause damage to society. Moreover, people misuse
information and that can leads to rumors and even creates violence in society
and around the globe.
Concluding from the aspects stated above, the only line which comes to mind is "In one line of thought, technology develops autonomously, in other words, technology seems to feed on itself, moving forward with a force irresistible by humans. Information is knowledge and knowledge is power. Knowledge plus experience is wisdom and it is the wise use of information that gives advantage to those who have information."
Concluding from the aspects stated above, the only line which comes to mind is "In one line of thought, technology develops autonomously, in other words, technology seems to feed on itself, moving forward with a force irresistible by humans.
